Gerald D. “Jerry” Allendorf

Gerald D. “Jerry” Allendorf, age 84, of Galena, IL, completed his earthly journey on August 12, 2024.  To honor Jerry’s life, a private family service is being held.  Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Galena.  The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Jerry’s family.

 

Jerry was born on February 19, 1940, in Galena, IL, a son to John “Jack” and Anna (Miller) Allendorf.  He was united in marriage to Pauline Green on August 19, 1961, at St. Mary’s Church in Galena.  She was sadly called home ahead of him on June 5, 2024, after 62 years of marriage.

 

Those left behind to cherish the memory of Jerry include,

his three children,

Keith Allendorf, Scales Mound, IL,

Leanne (Dave) Heffernan, Galena, IL,

and Wayne Allendorf, Scales, Mound, IL;

 

his six adored grandchildren,

Danielle Benson, Dustin (Nicole) Allendorf, Chad (Lexie) Allendorf, Cody Allendorf, Jesse Allendorf, and Cole Allendorf;

 

and his four great-grandchildren;

Liam, Brooklyn, Jovee, and Watson.

 

Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Allendorf; his parents; and his siblings, Betty (Melvin) Schultz, John “Bud” (Vivian) Allendorf, Mary (Charles) Schultz, Kenneth “Pete” (Ada and Mildred) Allendorf, Patricia Bruns, and two sisters in infancy, Arlene and Darlene.

 

Jerry’s family would like to thank Dr. Hernandez, along with the nurses and staff at the Medical Associates Clinic, Midwest Senior Care, and Hospice of Dubuque for all of their professional and compassionate care.

    So sorry Leanne, Keith and Wayne about your dad. He was such a quite man and sweet one. He will be missed. He is with your mom now where he should be.
