Obituaries

Patricia A. Perry, age 85, of Dubuque, IA, was called home to the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on May 14, 2022, at Stonehill Care Center in Dubuque.  To honor Patricia’s life, her memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at 7:00 p.m., at the Galena Bible Church, 11108 US 20, Galena, IL, with Pastor Gary Kirst officiating.  Family and friends of Patricia’s may visit in fellowship from 7:00 p.m. with light refreshments prior to the service at the church.  The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Patricia’s family.

Joyce C. (Clapham) Schoenberger, age 71, of Dubuque, IA, completed her earthly journey on May 13, 2022, at UnityPoint Finley Hospital in Dubuque.  To honor Joyce’s life, her Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2022, from 10:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m., at the Mueller Memorial Chapel at Linwood Cemetery, 2736 Windsor Avenue, in Dubuque.  Burial will be in the Linwood Cemetery.  The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Joyce’s family.

Deborah K. “Debbie” Meyer, age 68, of East Dubuque, IL, died on May 10, 2022, at home after a battle with cancer, while surrounded by her loving family.  To honor Debbie’s life, a private family graveside service will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Dubuque.  Debbie’s Celebration of Life for family and friends will be scheduled this summer closer to Debbie’s birthday and the arrangements will be announced at that time.  The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Debbie’s family.

Matthew J. “Chee Chee” Riniker, age 83, of Bernard, IA, completed his earthly journey on May 8, 2022, at MercyOne in Dubuque.  To honor Matthew’s life, his Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, May 28, 2022, at The Barn, 5090 Sherrill Road, with Rev. James T. Chappell officiating.  Family and friends of Matthew’s are invited to join in faith, food, and fellowship from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at The Barn in Sherrill, IA.  Burial will be in the Assumption Catholic Cemetery in Zwingle, IA, at a later date.  The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Matthew’s family.

Kathleen M. Phillips, age 73, of Dubuque, IA, completed her earthly journey on April 27, 2022, at MercyOne in Dubuque while surrounded by her loving family.  To honor Kathleen’s life, a private family service is being held.  The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Kathleen’s family.

Van Warren Butcher, age 83, of Dyersville, IA, was called home suddenly into the grace-filled arms of his Lord and Savior on April 21, 2022, at MercyOne in Dubuque.  To honor Van’s life, military honors will be accorded by the Dyersville American Legion Post # 137 at Mount Hope Cemetery in Dyersville at a later date.  The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Van’s family.

Eugene V. Majeski, age 82, of Platteville, WI, completed his earthly journey on April 19th, 2022, at home while surrounded by his loving family. To honor Eugene’s life, his memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 14th, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the New Hope Assembly of God Church, 677 Walnut Dell Road, in Platteville. Family and friends of Eugene’s may visit in fellowship from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church. The Tri state cremation center is humbly serving Eugene’s family.

Shirley A. Winkler, age 89, of Lancaster, WI, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2022, at Grant Regional Hospital.  She was born on August 1, 1932, in Liberty Township to Lester and Flossie (Latham) Martin.  She married Harlan A. Winkler on August 20, 1957, and together they raised 7 children on their family farm east of Lancaster.

Peggy A. Rutherford, age 64, of Hazel Green, WI, completed her earthly journey on April 16, 2022, at home while surrounded by her loving family. To honor Peggy’s life, her Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at her home, 2849 Sandy Hood Road in Hazel Green, WI. Edward R. Hermsen, age 79, of Dyersville, IA, completed his earthly journey peacefully on April 13, 2022, at MercyOne in Dyersville.  To honor Edward’s life, a private family burial will be held at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery at a later date. 

Linda A. Somerville, age 73, of Dubuque, IA, completed her earthly journey on April 12, 2022, at MercyOne in Dubuque, while surrounded by her loving family.  To honor Linda’s life, a Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date.  The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Linda’s family.

Daniel P. Burchfield, age 50, of Dubuque, IA, completed his earthly journey on April 6, 2022, at home while surrounded by his loving family.  To honor Daniel’s life, a Celebration BBQ will be held in June for his family and friends to gather in fellowship, food, and the memories which Daniel leaves behind.  The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Daniel’s family.

Jerry L. Murdock, age 80, of Galena, IL, completed his earthly journey on April 2, 2022, at home while surrounded by his loving family.  To honor Jerry’s life, his memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. at the Galena Bible Church, 11108 US 20, Galena, IL, with Pastors Gary Kirst and Tim Wagner officiating.  Family and friends of Jerry’s may gather and visit from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service.  The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Jerry’s family.

Paul “Pete” Blum, age 86, of Beetown, WI, completed his earthly journey on April 1, 2022, at home surrounded by his loving family. To honor Pete’s life, his memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., at the River Valley Community Church, 1035 Jack Oak Road, Cassville, WI, with Pastor Don Zahurance officiating. Mr. Jude Thomas “Bubba” Brashaw, dedicated father, uncle and grandfather left his earthly body to begin his next journey on Thursday March 31st, 2022. Jude touched so many in his full life of 72 years. A memorial mass for Jude will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at St. Joe the Worker Catholic Church, 2001 St. Joseph Street in Dubuque, with Father Jim Goerend officiating. Family and friends are also invited to join in fellowship and the memory of Jude during a Celebration of Life event on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at Lot 1, 100 Main Street in Dubuque. Robert C. “Bob” Lehnhardt, Jr., age 57, of Hazel Green, WI, left us all too soon on March 26, 2022, at the University of Iowa Hospital while surrounded by his loving family and girlfriend.  To honor Bob’s life, there will be a party held on Sunday, May 15, 2022, from 11:00 – 3:00 p.m., in the Dubuque County Fairgrounds Ballroom, 14569 Old Highway Road in Dubuque.  The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Bob’s family.

Carrie A. Anderson, age 39, of East Dubuque, IL, completed her earthly journey on March 27, 2022, at home while surrounded by her loving family. To honor Carrie’s life, her Celebration of Life will be held from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m., on Monday, April 4, 2022, in the Northwoods Room at the Stoney Creek Inn, 940 Galena Square Drive in Galena, IL. Irene E. Heeren, age 81, of Bernard, IA, completed her earthly journey on March 25, 2022, at MercyOne in Dubuque, surrounded by her loving family.  To honor Irene’s life, a private family service will be held at a later date.  Burial will be in the Dubuque Memorial Gardens Cemetery.  The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Irene’s family.

David Gordon (age 37) of Forest Park, Illinois, was born on March 27, 1984, in Mexico City, Mexico, and on March 24, 2022, passed away peacefully in Elizabeth, Illinois, surrounded by his beloved wife Caitlin Clarke Gordon, daughters, Thalia Imari Gordon (age 18), Arianna Viviana Gordon (age 18), and Amaya Mhairi Gordon (age 3), sons, Damian Anthony Gordon (age 14) and Dante Marion Gordon (age 13), and extended family.
