Obituaries

Robert Brainerd Hutchinson was born on September 24, 1951, and died peacefully at home in Hanover IL on December 10, 2021 after a long and valiant fight with cancer.  In honor of his wishes, there will be no formal ceremony and his ashes will be buried in the Casper Bluff Natural Cemetery, Galena, IL.   

Dyan M. Burke, age 70, of Dubuque, IA, completed her earthly journey on Dec. 4, 2021, at the home of her sister, surrounded by her loving family.  To honor Dyan’s life, her Celebration of Life will be held from 12:00 until 4:00 p.m., on Sunday, Dec. 12, 2021, at Steeple Square, 101 E. 15th Street in Dubuque.  Dyan’s memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Dianne Grace officiating.  A private family burial will be held at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Dubuque.  The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Dyan’s family.

Patricia E. “Patti” Bakey, age 74, of Platteville, WI, formerly of Dubuque, IA, was called home to the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2021, at home, surrounded by her loving family.  To honor Patti’s life, a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2021, at Westview Methodist Church, 770 West Madison Street in Platteville, at 11:00 a.m., with Pastors Bob Korntved and Richard T. Carns officiating.  Family and friends of Patti’s are invited to visit from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church.  The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Patti’s family.

Inver Grove Heights, MN… Laura Ann Vaughn, 55, of the Minneapolis area, formerly of Dubuque, passed away at home November 29, 2021, as the result of pulmonary disease. Laura was born on June 28, 1966, in Dubuque to C. Jay and Norma (Nurre) Vaughn. Funeral mass will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Church on Thursday, December 9, 2021, at 11 am.

John C. Reinheimer, age 73, of Galena, IL, formerly of Cedar Rapids, IA, completed his earthly journey suddenly on November 27, 2021, at home.  The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving John’s family.

Randall D. “Randy” Levins, age 63, of Dubuque, IA, completed his earthly journey on Nov. 24, 2021, at MercyOne in Dubuque.  To honor Randy’s life, a private family service is being held.  Burial will be in the Dunleith Cemetery in East Dubuque, IL, at a later date.  The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Randy’s family.

Michael J. “Mike” Arthofer, age 81, of Peosta, IA, completed his earthly journey on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 25, 2021, at home while surrounded by his loving family. To honor Mike’s life, a graveside service will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2021, at 10:30 a.m., at the St. Catherine’s Cemetery with Rev. Dianne Grace officiating.  Full military honors will be accorded by the Dubuque Marine Corps League.  The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Mike’s family.

Richard Francis McFarland, 62, of Dubuque, died peacefully on Nov 24, while under the care of Hospice of Dubuque. He was the son of Edward and Angela McFarland, who are deceased. A private memorial service for family will be scheduled at a later date.

Eugene R. “Gene” Glanz, age 86, of Dubuque, IA, completed his earthly journey suddenly on Nov. 18, 2021, at home in the loving arms of his wife.  To honor Gene’s life, a private family service is being held.  The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Gene’s family.

Francis J. “Frank” Schumacher, Jr., age 72, of Cape Coral, FL, formerly of Dubuque, Marshalltown, and Des Moines, IA, was called home, into the grace filled arms of his Lord and Savior, suddenly on Sunday, October 31, 2021, at the Hope Hospice House in Cape Coral, while surrounded by his loving family.  To honor Frank’s life, his Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., at Steeple Square, 101 E. 15th Street in Dubuque, where his family and friends are invited to join in food, fellowship, and sharing in his testimony of a life well lived.  Frank’s memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Steeple Square, with Pastor Jack Redmond officiating.  The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Frank’s family.

Patricia M. “Patsy” Arensdorf, age 72, of Dubuque, IA, completed her earthly journey on Oct. 25, 2021, at home surrounded by her loving family.  To honor Patsy’s life, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021, at 11:00 am, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 1425 Iowa Street, with Father Martin Coolidge officiating.  Family and friends may visit for one hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial will be in the Mt. Dr. George Giannakouros, 88, of Dubuque, IA, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2021, at home, surrounded by his loving family. To honor George’s life, a private family service will be held at a future date.

Eugene C. “Jupe” Jaeger, age 87, of Dubuque, Iowa, completed his earthly journey on October 20, 2021, at Ennoble Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation.  To honor Eugene’s life, a private family service is being held.  Burial will be in the St. Paul’s Cemetery in Worthington, Iowa.  The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Eugene’s family.

Tom Ashenbrenner (aka Tom Brenner), passed away on October 11 at the age of 69 years old. He was born in Milwaukee, WI.

Raymond H. “Ray” McDowell, age 81, of Edgewood, IA, passed away peacefully on Oct. 1, 2021, at the Edgewood Convalescent Home, surrounded by his loving family.  To honor Ray’s life, a memorial service will be held on Friday, October 8, at 3 p.m., at the Silver Creek United Methodist Church, in Monti, IA.  Family and friends may visit from 1 p.m., until the time of services at the church.
