Carla R. Beyer, age 59, of Dubuque, IA, completed her earthly journey on March 4, 2025, at home while surrounded by her loving family. To honor Carla’s life, a celebration in her memory will be held in the spring. The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Carla’s family.
Carla was born on March 18, 1965, in Dubuque, IA, a daughter to Edward F. and Anna A. (Giunta) Beyer. She was gifted with a keen mind, a tender heart, and a strong work ethic which was clearly evident to all who knew and loved her. Carla majored in mathematics and found great joy in sharing her talents as a tutor for many years. She also spent over 40 years being the friendly face who was there to serve you at Country Kitchen, Ground Round, and the Village Inn. Carla was a big people person through and through and to meet her was to love her. If you weren’t friends with Carla after spending any amount of time in her orbit, it was only due to your personal resistance to her outgoing and empathetic attitude towards others and life.
Carla was also a gifted athlete and enjoyed perfecting her skills at volleyball, softball, and basketball. Although skilled in many sports she combined her love for mathematics and courts/fields to become a sports manager and score keeper through high school and college. Carla was also an avid reader and when the day was done, she made no qualms about grabbing her latest book and getting comfortable in her favorite chair. But, for those who knew Carla best, there was no denying that family was where her greatest joy was truly found. Her love and adoration for those around her was continually on display and no one ever had to wonder where they stood in Carla’s heart; always at the top of mind.
Carla lived her live with real diligence towards one common goal each and every day. Quality over quantity was her life’s motto. This mode of operation brought not only her much joy and satisfaction throughout her life, but thankfully, it also became a tangible blessing for everyone else as well. We cannot even imagine moving forward in this life without our fearless matriarch leading the way. Her love was boundless, her patience enduring, and every word, thought, and action she developed was centered on others long before it ever came back around to herself. Thank you, Carla, for living life as a wonderful example we can all be honored to emulate. May your legacy thrive vividly within our lives as we all wait patiently, and yet somewhat eagerly to see your beautiful smile once again.

I am so glad that Joe and I had our time to visit with Carla a couple weekends ago. We will treasure that memory forever. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the entire family.
I am shocked and saddened by the loss of Carla. I send my sympathies to all of her family and friends with the hope of remembering her.
Carla was always pleasant at work and loved her family so much. You all have my deepest sympathy, and I will pray for strength and guidance for you all with the passing of you mother.
Through love not blood Carla and I have grown up together as FAMILY.I have so many fond memories of all our times together throughout our lives from hanging out with the Elkader city boys to coon hunting with our Independence camping friends up in Elysian. The best times were catching bullheads non stop up in Elysian while dad and Eddie baited our hooks and took our fish off. She was a wonderful person always caring about everyone. Kaitlyn and Lexi just know how proud and how much love your mom had for you both and your children. She fought hard til it was her time and always know she will be watching over you all. Love Sheila
Beyer family. Sorry for your loss. Not knowing her, I do believe she closely resemblance to her mom, Anna. Must have been a great person. Ruth
So sorry for your loss and sending our deepest sympathy to all of the Beyer family.
I am saddened by this news, but knowing Carla she kicked ass and made the most of every last day. Carla was a very special type, she could see you 3 times in the same day , and EVERY time she saw you she would smile and wave like she hadn’t seen you in ten years! She’s up surfing with her dad again to wipeout 😁🏄♀️🏄♂️♥️one of my favorite memories. I’ll continue to keep her family and close friends in my thoughts.
Sorry to see that Carla has passed. I worked with her in our younger days at Country Kitchen. She was always quick on her feet and coffee cups always filled. We had many laughs together and that’s what I’ll remember.
