Mary Jo Sherman, 87, of East Dubuque, IL, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2024, surrounded by love and care. True to her wishes, no services will be held.
Mary Jo always gave kindness and compassion to everyone she met. There was nothing that meant more to her than family and friends.
In her final days, Mary Jo was cared for with extraordinary compassion and dignity by the incredible staff at Ahva Living and Hospice of Dubuque. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to all of the nurses, aides, and volunteers who brought so much comfort and peace during this time. Your kindness and dedication will never be forgotten. A special thank you to Ann at Ahva Living as well.
In lieu of services, the family asks that friends and loved ones honor Mary Jo’s memory by donating to your favorite charity, supporting Hospice of Dubuque, or spending time with loved ones.

We are so sorry to hear about Mary Jo. We always loved her laugh and her ability to tell it like it is while making people laugh. When I joined the family, she was one of the first to welcome me with open arms. It meant so much. Hugs to all of you.
