Rita M. (Wedig) Kloser

Rita Kloser, age 91, of Dubuque, IA, passed away peacefully October 23,2024, surrounded by her loving family. Rita was born on June 25, 1933 in Cuba City, WI, one of five children to Bertrand “Bert” and Agnes (Splinter) Wedig.  She attended St. Peters grade school and graduated from Belmont , WI,  High School in 1951.  Rita graduated from Mercy School of Nursing in 1954.  She worked as a registered nurse for several hospitals and nursing facilities before retiring in 1995.

Rita married John Kloser October 15, 1955.  They had four children, 9 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.  The couple recently celebrated their 69th Wedding Anniversary with family and friends.

Rita is survived by her husband, John Kloser, Dubuque, IA, four children: Dan (Pam) Kloser, Garner, IA, Beth (Kurt) Clodius, Louisville, KY, Tom (Barb) Kloser, Omaha, NE, and Andrew  (Sharon) Kloser, Lantana TX, nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, brother-in-law Keith Richardson, Madison, WI, along with numerous extended family, friends and neighbors.

To honor Rita’s Life, a Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 2001 St Joseph Drive.  Burial will be in the Mt Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum at a later date.  The Tri-State Cremation Center is in charge of the arrangements.

The family requests no flower arrangements or memorials

Rita’s family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Sunset Park Place and Hospice of Dubuque for all of their professional and compassionate care.

    Sending prayers and sympathy.
    I got the pleasure to visit with Rita while my Mom (Dorothy Link) was a resident at Sunset. She was always a very sweet lady.
