Robert R. “Bob” Fangman, age 62 of Dubuque, Iowa, completed his earthly journey on April 11, 2020 at UnityPoint Health-Finley Hospital in Dubuque. To honor Bob’s life, a private family service is being held. The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Bob’s family.
Bob was born on June 16, 1957 in Dubuque, Iowa, one of 3 children to Roger and Mary (Duehr) Fangman. He was a proud graduate of Hempstead High School and not long after graduation began his 30 year career in the auto body business. He was very good at his trade and it didn’t take him long to hang his own shingle above the door for the public to see. He owned and operated Bob Fangman Auto Body for over 20 years before eventually spending his last 10 years with the guys at Riverside. He enjoyed working on vehicles and his hands rarely sat idle. In his spare time, Bob thoroughly enjoyed wood working and has left behind a nice collection of pieces which will carry on his legacy for generations to come. He also embraced every opportunity to spend a little time socializing with friends at the bowling alley whenever possible. Bob was a good and decent man who thrived on helping others, spending time outside and basically visiting with anyone who was willing to take the time to talk. Being next to, and on the river was where Bob’s heart was and the only thing that could make those hours and days better was when his family was by his side enjoying the relaxing atmosphere as well. We are deeply saddened today by his sudden departure from our lives, but we’ve also watched Bob fight with all that he had over these last months. His spirit will live on in the hearts and minds of all who knew and loved him, and we are forever grateful for all of the wonderful memories he leaves behind for us to treasure.
