Jeanette M. Sedbrook, 92, formerly of Potosi, WI, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family March 10, 2025, at St. Dominic Villa, Hazel Green, WI.
Jeanette was a shining light in the lives of many. Her journey on earth was one marked by love and unwavering faith in God. She had a passion to serve and help others which became apparent early on in life when she worked as a Nurse’s Assistant, was a Potosi 4-H Leader, held various retail positions, an avid collector of antiques and Owner of The Carousel of Antiques and Gifts Store in Hot Springs Village, Ark.
Her most favorite hobbies were gardening, oil painting, quilting, sewing and making hand-woven rugs. She enjoyed traveling, was an avid Euchre player and loved playing games for countless hours with family and friends. She loved to coordinate activities and her motto to the end was “Gotta keep moving”.
She is survived by her 6 children, Shelly Gentry of La Crosse, WI, David (Jo Anne) Sedbrook of East Dubuque, IL, Dale (Julia) Sedbrook of Hot Springs, AR, Darreyl (Laurie) Sedbrook of Rosemount, MN, Cheryl (Dan) Gotzinger of Red Feathers Lake, CO, and Melanie (Yancy) Nichol of Glenwood Springs, CO; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; her brother, Francis “Wally” Wallenhorst; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was not only proud of her children, but also very proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Sylvester Sedbrook in 2013; her parents, Adolph and Marie Wallenhorst; her sisters, Florentine (Cyril) Abing, Patricia Heer and Edna (Leroy) Abresch; her sister-in-law, Donna Mae Wallenhorst; and her son-in-law, Greg Gentry.
To honor Jeanette’s life, a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, March 14, 2025, at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Tennyson, WI. A visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the St. Andrew’s Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a Jeanette M. Sedbrook memorial fund has been established.
Jeanette’s family would like to thank the many healthcare workers who have been such an important and compassionate part of her care. We especially want to thank the nurses and staff at St. Dominic Villa, Ahva Living of East
Dubuque, and St Croix Hospice for taking such professional and loving care of our mother.

I love you and I will see you again. I hope (know) you will get to also meet my husband finally. I love you so much and I will always cherish the memories of you and your love. Your Granddaughter Lea K. Isabella Bates
My dear sweet Jeanette…you were truly one of the brightest parts of my time at Belltower…I always enjoyed our talks daily and especially taking care of the sweet birdies when you would go on vacation. May you rest in peace sweet angel. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.
